Facebook has recently introduced new updates for Business Pages with the aim to provide users with easier ways to interact with local businesses. One of the main changes that has been made is the transition from Facebook Reviews to Recommendations – an evolved version of the Facebook reviews system.
What You Need to Know
Alex Himel, Facebook’s VP of Local, recently revealed that over 1.6 billion people around the world are connected to at least one small business on Facebook, using the search engine to source local companies to use, often well aware of the importance of reviews and recommendations.
With more people than ever before now using Facebook to ask their communities where to go, where to eat, where to shop and more, Facebook has ensured that recommendations are as prominent as possible on small business profiles, so that users can quickly find the information that they want to see.
It has been estimated that 1 in 3 Facebook users now use Facebook to find reviews and recommendations, and even more importantly that 2 in 3 Facebook users visit the page of a local business at least once a week, showing that users are more attracted to reviews and recommendations that are recent.
Businesses don’t need to worry about all of the reviews that they have harvested on Facebook however, as these are going to continue to be displayed alongside any new Recommendations.
